Alumni Department
Main Objective

The purpose of the Bishop Watterson High School Alumni Department is to strengthen the school’s relationship with its alumni, renew and foster the bonds of friendship, promote continued involvement of graduates and provide valued services to our alumni that support the school's values and vision.

  Scott Manahan - Alumni Director

Graduate of Fremont Ross High School (1981) and Ashland College (1985) married to wife Laura for 26 years and have four children; Emily (Watterson class of 2008), Matt (Hamilton Township class of 2009), Audrey (Watterson class of 2013) and Katie (Watterson class of 2015).

Scott began teaching and coaching in the Ontario (Mansfield) Local schools in 1985 and moved to Columbus to teach at Bishop Watterson during the 1991-92 school year. During the first four years at Watterson, he was a full time physical education teacher and also the head baseball coach and assistant football coach (seven years). In time, Scott was moved into the role of “Dean of Men” along with handling teacher substitutions for the school. When Mr. Durant retired and Principal Marian Hutson became the new principal, Scott was asked to be the Registrar and Co-Athletic Director with then head football coach Mike Golden. Scott held this Co-Athletic Director position until leaving for Hamilton Township after the 2007 school year.

After three years at Hamilton Township, Scott returned to Bishop Watterson as the Head Baseball Coach and Assistant Athletic Director working under the direction of Athletic Director Mike Roark.

“I am extremely excited and honored to become the new Alumni Director at Bishop Watterson High School. Over my numerous years here at Watterson I have been blessed to teach, coach and make friends with some wonderful young men and women. It has also been my pleasure to meet and become friends with a large number of Watterson Alumni who I now hope to bring back to the school and different events in the future.”

“My plans as the new Alumni Director are to get the Watterson Alumni to join those of us here at the school and bring us together as one EAGLE NATION. I hope that you feel free to contact me and please plan on coming back to the school in the future.”
